Kodim 0102/Pidie Holds Periodic Physical Fitness Test to Strengthen Troop Readiness

GEMARNEWS.COM, PIDIE – The Indonesian Army’s Kodim 0102/Pidie conducted the Periodic Physical Fitness Test (Garjas) for Fiscal Year 2026 as part of its continuous effort to maintain and improve the physical readiness, endurance, and agility of soldiers and civil servants within the unit. The activity took place at Blang Paseh Football Field on the Sigli–Kembang Tanjong Road, Blang Paseh Village, Kota Sigli District, Pidie Regency, Aceh, on Tuesday (May 12, 2026).

The exercise involved military personnel from various ranks, including officers, non-commissioned officers, enlisted soldiers, and Army civil servants. The program serves as a routine evaluation to measure physical fitness levels and ensure personnel are fully prepared to carry out operational duties in the field.


Among those attending the event were Personnel Staff Officer of Kodim 0102/Pidie Captain Infantry Ananda Fitra Nugraha as the activity coordinator, Physical Fitness Officer of Korem 011/Lilawangsa Captain Infantry Sunarto as the supervising officer, as well as the medical team from FKTP Yudha Bakti Polkes IM/09.01 Sigli led by Captain Ckm (K) Dr. Deonika Ariescieka Putri. Several officers, supporting personnel, and all Garjas participants also took part in the activity.

Before the test began, all participants underwent administrative registration and medical screening to ensure they were physically fit to participate. The examinations included blood pressure checks, pulse monitoring, and general health assessments conducted by the medical team.

Following the medical checks, participants attended a readiness assembly led by Captain Infantry Ananda Fitra Nugraha alongside Captain Infantry Sunarto. During his briefing, Captain Ananda emphasized discipline and safety throughout the exercise.

“All personnel must follow every stage of the activity according to procedures and regulations. Prioritize safety, understand your physical limits, and carry out the activities with discipline and responsibility,” he stated.

He explained that the Garjas program is an important component of military personnel development aimed at maintaining combat readiness and professional standards among soldiers.

“This physical fitness test is intended to measure the physical capabilities of personnel while also serving as a continuous development effort to ensure soldiers maintain excellent physical condition in support of operational duties,” he added.

The activity continued with warm-up and stretching sessions guided by the Physical Fitness Team of Korem 011/Lilawangsa. Before entering the core testing session, participants also underwent pulse checks and the Vanderlay test to determine their initial physical readiness.

Meanwhile, Captain Infantry Sunarto explained the test components that participants had to complete, including a 12-minute run, pull-ups, sit-ups, push-ups, a 6 x 10-meter shuttle run, as well as height and weight measurements. Participants are also scheduled to take part in a basic swimming proficiency test on the following day.

Captain Sunarto expressed hope that all participants would complete the activities seriously and according to their age groups and physical abilities.

“It is expected that all participants will perform each exercise optimally so the objectives of physical development can be achieved while also improving endurance and operational readiness. Safety must remain the top priority throughout the activity,” he said.

Overall, the implementation of the 2026 Periodic Physical Fitness Test proceeded safely, orderly, and smoothly. Through this program, Kodim 0102/Pidie continues to strengthen the professionalism and preparedness of its personnel through structured, measurable, and sustainable physical training programs.
